It’s never too late for adventure. Or romance.
Elsie is stuck. She’s isolated herself since her beloved husband’s death. When she hears about a series of thefts at a nearby senior living community, Elsie steps out of her solitude and boredom to try a new adventure. Cozy “whodunits” have always been her thing. Surely she can do a little sleuthing, even at her age. She moves into an apartment at Willow Groves, takes advantage of the built-in rumor mill among her quirky yet endearing neighbors, and sets a trap for the thief.
When Sam, a sulky, curt, but handsome recluse, helps Elsie care for an injured dog, he reveals an unexpected tender side. Elsie had no idea he could speak in full sentences, let alone thoughtful, caring ones. The immediate spark of attraction deepens as they walk in the woods, sing along to oldies music, and work together to solve the crimes. As Sam and Elsie share their stories of grief and regret, they start believing in the possibility of love and community.
Elsie pushes Sam to reach out to his estranged daughter, but he retreats in frustration. Elsie’s plan to catch the thief endangers them both as the culprit is revealed. Will their love be derailed or continue to grow?
